“Good morning, how may I help you?”
Friendly first words spoken by our new volunteers at the SMH Greeter desk. A welcome addition to help patients and visitors navigate their way around our hospital.
Our enthusiastic crew of volunteers are comprised of members of the public, SMH Auxiliary members and former employees. Volunteers work the Greeter Desk each day in two five hour shifts from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
If you’re interested in becoming a member of the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Volunteer program and if you are an energetic, outgoing individual who would like to volunteer to work at our Greeter Desk, then we want to hear from you!
As the first person our patients and visitors meet when they enter our new building, we see this as a very important community relations position.
As an official SMH Greeter you will volunteer to assist with providing directions and answering questions for patients, families, and visitors.

The care that was provided by The nurses (Cindy, Felicia Ruth) and staff was exceptional. The entire staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. We received a call from Felicia the next day to check on my husband to check his pain level and do a follow up. The surgery area from check in to check out was well organized, clean, and up to date. Thank you to all of you for what you do so well and everything beyond your normal duties.
