Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital’s Rural Health Clinic is pleased to welcome Sophie Roest to the team. Sophie is a Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner who is now accepting patients above the age of 14 to her family practice in Manistique, MI. She will begin seeing patients in April 2025.
Sophie began her nursing journey at Oakland University, where she earned her RN, and later completed her Master’s in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Throughout her career as a nurse, she gained diverse experience in hospice, emergency care, medical-surgical units, cardiac telemetry, neuro ICU, and med/surg ICU. As a nurse practitioner, she has provided care in home-based settings, hospice, long-term care (LTC), and skilled nursing facilities (SNF), as well as performing disability assessments for claimants.
A Michigan resident since 2006, Sophie enjoys cooking breakfast and cherishing time with her family. She finds balance through meditation, walking, and traveling.
