Visitor Restrictions In Effect

March 14, 2020

Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital is enforcing visitor restrictions until further notice.  To help control the spread of respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19 and to protect our patients, their loved ones and our staff, we are asking our patients to adhere to these restrictions.

Visitor Restrictions apply to the Emergency Room, Medical-Surgical In-Patients, Ambulatory Care (outpatient & infusion services), Wound Care, Rehabilitation Services and both Manistique and Naubinway Rural Health Clinics.  Families are encouraged to limit the number of companions that attend medical appointments when possible in the clinic setting.

There will be screening questions at both public entry points (Rural Health Clinic & Emergency Department).  If you have symptoms of cough, fever or shortness of breath, we ask that you stay home if symptoms are mild.  If you have symptoms and plan to visit the hospital or clinic we ask that you call us ahead of time.  We have nurses that can speak to you about your symptoms to determine if testing is necessary.

Any patients who screen positive for travel and symptoms including cough, fever or shortness of breath will be asked to put on a mask and wait in a designated waiting room until they can be evaluated.  Patients can choose to wait in their car until they can be seen and evaluated by a nurse or medical provider.
