I am excited to announce my acceptance of a Cardiovascular Medicine position at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital beginning on August 1, 2017. I am native of Michigan, having been raised in Hudsonville. I graduated from Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI) with a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Science. I subsequently completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. Following completion of medical school, I was accepted to a three year Internal Medicine residency at MetroHealth Hospital (University of Michigan Health) in Wyoming, Michigan. During my time as an Internal Medicine resident, I became interested in Cardiology, and was invited to stay for an additional three years to complete a fellowship in adult Cardiovascular Medicine. I am currently board certified in Internal Medicine, Adult Cardiology, Comprehensive Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.
I provide complete cardiovascular care for adult patients. All of my services will be available at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. I will be seeing patients in the Rural Health Clinic. My clinical services include evaluation and treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, preventative cardiology, and non-invasive vascular medicine. My procedures and testing offered includes ECG, comprehensive echocardiography, treadmill stress testing, stress testing with imaging (nuclear and echocardiographic), cardioversion, outpatient cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive peripheral vascular testing.
On the personal note, I am married and have one daughter. My wife is a physical therapist, having completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at Grand Valley State University. My hobbies include cycling, swimming, playing and working on guitars, and enjoying time with my family. I am looking forward to bringing my cardiovascular expertise to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital and being able to provide new services to the Manistique area and it’s surrounding communities.
