Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Board Announces Robert Mach, MBA, FACHE, ARRT, as New Chief Executive Officer
MANISTIQUE, MI — Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Mach, MBA, FACHE, ARRT, as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective August 15, 2025. A past resident of Holly, Michigan, Robert brings decades of healthcare leadership experience and a strong record of operational excellence to the organization.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Rob Mach began his healthcare career as a radiology technologist. He advanced into hospital-based radiology management roles in Tennessee and Vermont before transitioning into senior-level hospital administration. His previous executive experience includes:
· Chief Operating Officer at Littleton Regional Healthcare in Littleton, New Hampshire
· CEO at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan
· CEO for Ascension Borgess Medical System’s Borgess Allegan Hospital and Borgess Pipp Hospital in Allegan County, Michigan
· Most recently, CEO at Arbor Health in East Lewis County, Morton, Washington
With a passion for patient-centered care and a proven ability to lead organizations through growth and transformation, Robert Mach is well-positioned to guide Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital during a pivotal time in the healthcare industry.

The Board of Trustees worked with SMH leaders to conduct a comprehensive search to identify a leader who understands the unique challenges and opportunities of rural healthcare while bringing strategic insight, clinical expertise, and a commitment to community. Outgoing interim CEO Kent LaCroix, MBA, FACHE, CISM will remain with Schoolcraft Memorial when Rob begins in August.
