SCHOOLCRAFT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL RECOGNIZED FOR QUALITY LABORATORY SERVICES
Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital has met all the criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA Inc., a leading national laboratory accreditor, whose program and standards enable clinical laboratories and staff to meet U.S. CLIA and other regulatory requirements.
The COLA Laboratory Excellence Award was granted as a result of a recent survey on January 28th, 2010. This award signifies the laboratory’s commitment to performing quality patient testing and overall laboratory practices. The Laboratory Excellence Award is achieved by those COLA laboratories that are found to be compliant with all COLA essential and required criteria at the time of their on-site survey. In addition, award recipients must have demonstrated successful proficiency testing for the prior three testing events and have no substantiated complaints against the laboratory.
Through a mentoring approach using education to improve quality and patient safety, accreditation is given to laboratories that apply the highest standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital has earned COLA Inc. accreditation to provide quality service to patients in the region.
