The new Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Specialist Clinic is now open to patients on 101 Walnut Street. This building is commonly known as the old Wilson Optometry Clinic. The renovated building has been temporarily rented to accommodate clinical space for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Psychiatric Services and the new CONNECT program linking patients to community resources.
Dr. Vermeulen, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist has started seeing patients in the new building. Low back/extremity pain and peripheral nerve impairments/electro diagnostic assessments are areas of expertise. Common conditions that he treats include: back pain, arthritis, peripheral nerve disease, gait disorders, complex rehabilitation related to stroke, spinal cord injury, muscle disease or cerebral palsy, various tendon/ musculoskeletal pain disorders.
Janet Pratt, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be moving her practice to the new Specialist Building on Tuesday August 7th. Patients scheduled before August 7th will continue regular appointments at the Rural Health Clinic. Janet Pratt offers psychiatric treatment options for adults with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Her services include evaluation, treatment, ongoing evaluation and medication management.
Jenna Bradshaw, Patient Navigator, has begun working on a new hospital program “Connect” that links patients to services outside of the hospital. These referrals include: mental health services, substance use disorder programs, child home-visiting, family and community education, grief support, and more.
