Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that Kent LaCroix has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Kent will serve in this role while the hospital continues its search and interview process for a permanent CEO.
“As a 5th generation resident of Schoolcraft County, our community means the world to me. I’m honored to be entrusted to ensure that the hospital remains on a steady path forward through this leadership change. It’s crucial for us to remain viable, independent, and focused on the needs of the people in our area,” LaCroix said.
Kent has worked at SMH for nearly 20 years, currently serving as the hospital’s Chief Information & Ancillary Officer. He holds an MBA with a focus in healthcare administration. He is also board-certified in Healthcare Management through the American College of Healthcare Executives. His leadership and deep understanding of the organization make him well-suited to guiding the hospital through this transitional period.
“We are confident in Kent’s ability to lead Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital with steadiness and vision during this time,” said Peter Hood, Board Chair of Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. “His commitment to our mission and experience within the healthcare system will ensure a smooth transition.”
The hospital is in the process of a comprehensive search for a permanent CEO and is actively interviewing qualified candidates. Kent will remain in the interim role until the new CEO begins.
