Beginning Monday November 3rd, free breakfast and lunch will be available during posted hours at South Town Café. Families from our community can simply present their SNAP card to receive these meals. In addition, government employees affected by the shut down will also be welcomed to take part in the free food service. Each participating household will receive one gallon of milk, one loaf of bread, and one dozen eggs per week to help meet basic nutritional needs. The dietary staff may revise the menu to meet the needs of our community. There will be hot food options and fresh fruit / vegetables available for pick up.
We will be providing food donations to the local pantries to offset the rising costs of food and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
This initiative is made possible through the collaboration and dedication of our Dietitian, Dietary Manager, and Patient Navigator, along with the strong support of our Senior Leadership Team. Their teamwork reflects our continued commitment to care for the health and well-being of the people we serve—both inside and outside the hospital walls.
Together, we can make a real difference for families in need. Please reach out to Jessica Baker, Patient Navigator at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital if you have questions about the new offering. Phone: 906-341-3750 or email PN@scmh.org
